Pembroke has contracted the B717 scheduled for delivery from Boeing in January to Olympic Aviation. Olympic Aviation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Olympic Airways, currently operates two other B717-200 aircraft in addition to 4 ATR 42 , 7 ATR 72 and 6 Dornier 228 aircraft. Olympic Aviation will use the aircraft primarily on its existing international routes in Europe, but also on a number of planned new routes. Financing has been arranged with Deutsche VerkehrsBank and it is expected that the aircraft will be delivered in late January 2001. Olympic Aviation is the regional and domestic subsidiary of Olympic Airways, operating scheduled and charter flights to 46 domestic and 13 international destinations, with its main base at Athens and a hub operation out of Thessaloniki in northern Greece.
