Today at 13.15 (PDST) at Boeing's production facility in Long Beach California, Bangkok Airways took delivery of its second B717 aircraft (msn 55067) from Pembroke Capital Ltd, having taken delivery of its first B717 aircraft in November 2000.

Bangkok Airways, who also operates a fleet of seven ATR 72's and two ATR 42's in addition to its B717, currently operates on domestic routes throughout Thailand and internationally to destinations such as Cambodia, Myanmar.

The addition of these two B717 aircraft will allow Bangkok Airways to extend the scope and reach of its operations whilst providing a quality regional jet service to mainly foreign tourists visiting the Mekong sub-region covering Cambodia, China's Yunnan province, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

This is Pembroke's fifth delivery since August 2000 out of its total order of 50 aircraft (27 firm, 23 options) with deliveries scheduled out to October 2005. To date, it has delivered its B717 aircraft to Impulse Airlines, Australia (x2), Bangkok Airways, Thailand (x2) and Olympic Aviation,Greece (x1).
