Today, at Boeing production facility in Long Beach California, AeBal took delivery of its first B717 aircraft (msn 55066) from Pembroke Capital Ltd, having previously taken delivery of three B717 aircraft in 2000.
AeBal, a scheduled low cost carrier based in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) which commenced operations in 2000 with a fleet of three B717-200, provides feeder services for Spanair and plans to grow to a fleet of 15 aircraft over a 5-year period. AeBal will provide scheduled air service on domestic Spanish routes, with growth plans that may include regional European routes. Its current route network includes the inter-Balearic Islands routes, the Balearic Islands to the Iberian Peninsula, and between secondary cities in the peninsula.
This is Pembroke's six delivery since August 2000 out of its total order of 50 aircraft (27 firm, 23 options) with deliveries scheduled out to September 2005. To date, it has delivered its B717 aircraft to Impulse Airlines, Australia (x2), Bangkok Airways, Thailand (x2) and Olympic Aviation, Greece (x1).
